Today marked the beginning of the 74th session of Oklahoma Girls State. Delegates began to arrive on campus at noon, where they met eager counselors who have put in hours of preparation to make their cities great. The ladies met for the first time this afternoon and began to get to know other citizens.
After the first city meetings, the ladies met current Department President, Carol Blosch and heard from one of Girls State's most treasured guests, Reverend Lori Walke. Reverend Walke encouraged delegates to be proud of their womanhood and spoke to the idea that they can accomplish whatever they set their minds to.

The night concluded with another city meeting, where delegates filed for office. Tomorrow morning, each city will elect officials, and we will move on to county elections. We look forward to a great week!
